DIRECTIONS • As a group, brainstorm an idea for a short story. • On your poster board, outline the story. This must include: • A TITLE • 3 LINES OF DIALOGUE / QUOTATION THAT WOULD BE INCLUDED • 3-4 SENTENCE SUMMARY OF THE PLOT • THEME (1 minimum) • CONFLICT • PLOT DIAGRAM • CHARACTERS (names and types) • POINT OF VIEW EVERYONE MUST PARTICIPATE ACTIVELY!!!
GALLERY WALK • Tape your group's poster board on the wall at eye-level • Rotate to each group's board and read over the outline of their short story. • Discuss any common themes popping up between each group (if applicable)
WRITING YOUR SHORT STORY • INDIVIDUALLY, study the story board that has been chosen for you • Using the outline the other group wrote, WRITE a story • Guidelines: • Must include ALL of the same information (title, quotes, characters, general plot, etc.) as the story board • Must be AT LEAST two pages (hand-written) • Must be done solo (no partners) • You may change the tone/add a motif, so long as it does not interfere with the information given by the original group. The completed story is due THURSDAY!
