Constraint (n) • Something that restricts thought or action • Constrain (v) • Example: Cost is often a constraint in considering petroleum alternatives.
Contamination (n) • Being made less clean by a germ or a hazardous substance • Contaminate (v); contaminant (n) • Example: The Exxon Valdez oil spill contaminated the water around Alaska.
Deplete (v) • To greatly decrease the supply of a resource or material • Depletion (n) • Example: We must be careful not to deplete our natural resources.
Dispose of (v) • To throw away; to get rid of; to kill • Disposal (n); disposable (adj) • Example: The factories were required to dispose of their waster properly.
Elementally (adv) • In terms of elements; basically • Element (n); elemental (adj) • Example: In chemistry, you study the different elements.
