  1. The Victorian Era By: Reyna Hermosillo History 1102 Spring 2018

  2. What caused the economic and society growth during the Victorian Era? How were children and women involved? • Thesis: The Victorian Era brought along many changes. • Queen Victoria became queen in 1837 until her death in 1901. She held 68 years in reign. New developments took place during this time that changed the life of everyone living this time period.

During this time new manufactures were being developed. The most important would have to the first electric train which facilitated every ones life. • Evaluation of source: This source is credible because it was written by a professor.

Due to the Industrial Revolution which captivated many people which caused them to leave their homes and find job opportunities else where. • Evaluation of source: This article is credible because it was published in the historian association.

Children were taken to work but did not know the extent of work and at times where lied to. • Evaluation of source: This video was made by a professor that read diaries of children who went through this time period

The children that were raised in low income families that worked to help sustain the family. They worked long hours at such young ages. While the children that were wealthy were raised mainly by nannies who taught them manners.

Some laws were passed to protect children but were not the best. One law restricts the minimum age for children to work at 9-years-olds and also that they were not able to work for more then 12 hours per day. • Evaluation of source: This source is credible due to association published document from Lake Forest College.

The movement began in 1897 women became frustrated with the inequality between men and women. • Evaluation of source: The article was published by Valmcbreath.com which is well known in England.

However they were wrong because women wanted to be outside the home, to work, attend school, travel, and have equal rights like men. • Evaluation of source: The video was published by a well know British broadcaster.

  14. Conclusion • As we can see during the Victorian Era many changes took place. Women were able to vote, work, and have a better education. The growth of population caused for more jobs to be open and eventually child labor was vanished!
