What is differentiation really? • Carol Ann Tomlinson talks about some of the myths of differentiation • Differentiation is not a set of instructional strategies…it is a philosophy. • No one can show you how to differentiate effectively…learning to differentiate requires rethinking the way to you teach and requires trial and error. • You can’t check differentiation off of your to do list…all teachers differentiate but very few PROACTIVELY plan to address students’ needs. The process is ongoing.
