For example: By no means can teaching in school be separated from practice. By no means will our friendship be affected.

  27. Sample Paragraph After Reading-assignment >> Assignment I wouldn’t want to be a teenager again, first of all, because I wouldn’t want to worry about talking to girls. I still remember how scary it was to call up a girl and ask her out. My heart would race, my pulse would pound, and perspiration would trickle down my face. Then there were the questions: Would she be at home? If she was, would she want to talk to me?... The one time I did get up the nerve to take a girl in my hometown to a movie, I was tongue-tied!

  28. Practical Writing After Reading-assignment >> Assignment Tips for writing: Write a general statement. Offer a series of details. Your Task: Write a paragraph with a general statement supported by details. Topic: My father (or mother) is my idol.

Amazing things, like putting a bicycle chain back on, just like that. Or building a hamster cage. Or guiding a jigsaw so it formed the letter F; I learned the alphabet that way in those pre-television days, one letter or number every other evening plus a review of the collection.
