Title Page Which can of soda is denser, root beer or diet cola? This page is the title page. The title is the question or problem for your student’s science fair project. The title page should be in the form of a question. Do not put your student’s name on the title page. The title page should only have the question on it and not the words title page.
The purpose of my experiment is to test which kind of soda has a high density and which has a low density. I chose this experiment because density interests me. The experiment will explain to me how density works and what it looks like put into action. Purpose The purpose should be only three sentences long. It should explain why the student chose the experiment and what the student will learn.
Acknowledgements I would like to say thank you to my wonderful science teacher for helping me with any problems I may have had with my science fair project. I would like to say thank you to my parents for supplying the materials needed to complete my science fair project. The acknowledgement page is designed to say thank you to the people that helped the student with their project. It should not be longer than one page.

Problem Which can of soda is denser, root beer or diet cola? The problem should be written in question form.
Hypothesis I believe that the can of diet cola will sink to the bottom of the tub. The hypothesis is what you think will happen before the experiment is conducted. The hypothesis needs to be specific.
Research The research section of the report is the information the student will look up about the science fair project. The example project I’m doing I could research how soda is made and what ingredients go into creating soda. I could also research density and who discovered the concept of density. The research section can be more then one full page but it needs to be at least one full page.
Experiment I first collected one can of root beer and one can of diet cola. I then filled a tub with water. The water was filled at least two inches from the top of tub. I then placed the cans of soda into the tub of water. I recorded and collected my data during the experiment. The experiment page is where you explain in detail what you did. The experiment page can be in paragraph or list form. Its up to you what you want to do.
Conclusion In conclusion, the root beer sank to the bottom of the tub of water while the diet cola floated at the top. The reason is because the root beer is denser then the water while the diet cola is less dense then the water. I discovered that my hypothesis was proven wrong. The conclusion is basically reporting your results. Just explain what has happened and explain if your hypothesis was proven right or wrong.
Sources The sources page is giving credit to any books, reference materials, internet sites, etc. Put this page in bibliography format. Don’t forget authors names and the names of the people who created the websites.
