From the NORDUnet2 evaluation The Nordunet2 evaluation puts forward an array of interesting findings, claims and recommendations. The evaluators, more specifically, recommend setting up a follow-up program with the aim "to bring the Nordic region back in the front". To be able to achieve this, it is clamed that the program should not merely be an extension of the current one. Based on their observations the evaluators propose a follow-up initiative with the following elements:
· More emphasis on infrastructure services, both on the network and on the application layer, with more emphasis on "mobility" and GRIDs • NORDUnet and the NRENs should play a much more prominent role • · More attention should be given to international co-operation with other world-class initiatives • · More emphasis on the dissemination of progress and results, both on a national/Nordic level and the international level • · More attention should be given to quality assurance, not only during the selection but also in the operational phase of the projects • · The organisational structure needs to be strengthened
