Energy in Your Life • Energy is very important, if it were to disappear right now most of us wouldn’t know what to do.
Oil Based Energies • 99.6% of the power in the islands are oil-based energies. • Only 0.4% of the energy comes from renewable resources.
How We Use the Energy • Half of the energy goes into the transportation
Renewable Resources in Gran Canaria • In the Canary Islands there are a plethora of resources, but the ones that could harvest a lot energy are the solar and wind energies.
Solar Energy • The solar energy could provide us with way more power than what we’re harnessing.
Wind Energy • The wind energy is the main renewable energy resource in most of the Canary area.
Wind Energy • But you can’t find wind turbines everywhere in the islands, they’re mostly located in the east and west of the island.
In Gran Canaria there are two fuel power plants. The first one is placed in Jinamar. The second one is in the south of the Island.(Juan Grande) FUEL POWER STATION
