POLISH CONFEDERATION OF PRIVATE EMPLOYERS LEWIATAN (PKPP LEWIATAN) • Continuation of established between the two World Wars Central Association of Polish Industry, Mining, Commerce and Finance Lewiatan; • Established in January 1999 as a nation-wide representation of employers to the state and trade unions; • 3500 companies employing over 650000 workers; • Member of BUSINESSEUROPE, permanent representative in Brussels; • Major achievements: reduction of the personal and corporate income tax rates for businesses to 19 % in 2004,enactment of the Economic Freedom Act in 2004,revision of the Commercial Company Code in 2003,liberalization of the Labour Code in 2002.
ABOUT THE COURT Genesis: • Discussion regarding the need of establishment of a new court • Established by Resolution of PCPE Lewiatan General Assembly on 15 February 2005 Aims: • Fast and professional commercial dispute resolution forum • For business and non-business entities, not only associated within PCPE Lewiatan • Promotion and education centre for arbitration
