Background Stephenie and her five siblings She was born in 1973 in Hartford Conneticut Considers herself an Arizona native after moving to Pheonix at age four Second oldest child of six which often made her refer to her family as the Brady Bunch Graduated as an English major from Brigham Young University, in Provo Utah

  3. Normal Life Stephenie Meyer Officially met husband Christian aka Pancho and married within 9 months Grew up knowing him and his family but never got around to getting to know each other Three sons; Gabe, Seth and Eli Mormon Faith Often teased about how a good Mormon girl could create book about vampires

  4. Twilight Twilight book cover Her very first novel Started out as a vision in her dreams (literally) and within 6 months was published Her dream was about a human girl who falls in love with a vampire. This scene was written as chapter 13 of Twilight She never thought that her story would be published but once she began writing she couldn’t stop

Getting It Published An agent from the literary agency, Writers House, got a hold of Stephenie and asked for the first three chapters of Twilight This agent, Genevieve, enjoyed these first few chapters and asked Stephenie for the whole book. A month later Steph got a call form another agent, Jodi Reamer, who told Stephenie that she wanted to represent her book

Jodi worked with Stephenie to get Twilight ready for editors The final copy was sent out to nine different publishing houses After reading the whole book, Megan Tingley of Little, Brown and Company publishers, gave Meyer a three book deal for Twilight The story quickly gained many fans eager for more

New Fame Twilight film trailer Over 17 million copies of the series have been sold world wide Translated into 20 different languages and is available in 37 different countries Release of a motion picture of Twilight in 2008 by Summit Entertainment Spent over 50 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller’s list

  8. Feedback/ Critics Signifies devoted fans Fans have spoken and all have their own opinions about the books The most obvious is that they can’t stop talking about it Professional critics argue that the story’s plot could be better but they cannot deny the positive effect it has had on the fans
