It becomes more crucial when you have thrown a birthday party and a lot of kids have attended that. You need to clean the dirt that has finally settled in your indoor bounce house. A bouncing castle is quite big and consists of several surfaces that need to be cleaned. And if you’re in a rental business then it becomes crucial for you to clean it after every use. Though this is not mentioned in any law it is an act of human decency. As an owner of the bounce, you will never wish your customers to get ill or infected after using the commercial bounce house. Also, accurate cleaning can save a lot of people from getting injured. Knowing the process of cleaning a bouncy house is not just a responsibility but an ethical point too. After seeing it first you may think that cleaning might be tough and you will need to hire someone for this. Trust me, it is one of the easiest tasks. Just follow the below steps and you are done with the work. Step I – Initial Preparations
As before starting any new work you should prepare yourself for this. The same step to be followed in this procedure also. Before cleaning the commercial bounce house you first need to be ready with some initial preparations to make this work faster and safer. Take a waterproof tarp and roll the jumping castle on this. Make sure to check the free debris there. Now remove all the detachable accessories like ladders or steps, side rails, artwork panels, and all the other things which you can clean separately. There are a lot of bounce houses that come with separate cleaning instructions, so before you start anything consider reading them first. Generally, the below steps are the same as that one but for a safety point of view, you should read that also. Next, thoroughly check the bouncy house and get an idea of estimated work that you need to do. Don’t get tensed with the amount of work, just be patient, this step can save your time as you can now plan accordingly. Going with a plan is far better than starting anything randomly. Inspect visually at least two times. Make sure you are paying attention to high traffic areas meaning those regions where kids use to sit more. This will give you an idea of where you need to spend a lot of time cleaning. Initially, things might be difficult for you but after two or three wash it won’t take more than 5-10 minutes if time. Step II – Dry phase Your visual assessment has already given you a road map that can make this process efficient and faster. With that understanding, you are ready to start the dry phase of the cleaning process. You need to remove loose items such as jewelry, crayons, food material that may include chips or any other snacks, toys and some easily visible dust. Sometimes, you may find some kind of personal items such as an identity card, make sure to give a try to find out the owners and return the items. All these loose items can harm your bounce house. With the help of a broom and brushes, clean the dust which can be removed easily. If you want you can use a shop vacuum also. Make sure along with brushing from the outer side you need to flip it over and clean the inner portions also. Step III – Try to use a homemade bounce house cleaner After the dry phase, again you need to look at the bounce house thoroughly. Still, if there is any dirt visible then you need to check if those are spills or any other kind of mess that is harming your bounce house. If no such stain is found you can go ahead for step 4 and if you see any such stain then make sure to perform wet cleaning with the help of homemade bounce house cleaner which you can easily prepare by using your regular dish wash cleaner. If you are facing any of the below circumstances then wet cleaning is must for your commercial bounce house. You can clean only the affected areas or the whole bounce house as per the requirement. ● From the previous 5-6 years if you have not performed wet cleaning for your bounce house.
● If the party goes wrong and some kid has created a lot of mess like a spill, being sick or other things then wet cleaning becomes important. After brushing and vacuuming the visible part is looking dirty If this is not peak season for running the bounce house business and you wish to store it for a long time. Same in the case of an indoor bounce house, if you are not using it then before storing it make sure to apply wet cleaning. ● ● Step IV – Disinfecting the bounce house From the above process, your bounce house is almost clean but the process of disinfecting is crucial as a lot of children are going to use your equipment. Disinfecting can prevent many viruses and infections. With the help of bleach-free disinfecting wipes, you can disinfect your commercial bounce house. Make sure to avoid the products which contain bleach because it can damage the material of jumping castles. Use it when there are molds in high numbers. Step V – Drying bounce house For drying the commercial bounce house you will need a lot of towels and some sunlight. Well, sunlight is the most preferable source. If you have used wet cleaning then the use of towels is compulsory as it can mop away the buildups of water. Else, leave the bounce house for a day in natural sunlight. Hope the above steps helped you in cleaning your bounce house.
