Genre: Nonfiction This book is about the moon revolving around the Earth. It discusses the moon taking about 4 weeks to make one journey and how we on Earth can only see parts of it. I will use this book the first day of my lesson.

  3. The MoonBy Seymour Simon Simon, S. (1984). The moon. New York, NY: Scholastic Inc. Genre: Nonfiction This book solely focuses on the moon and its important relationship to Earth. I will have this book on display in the class while teaching my lesson for the students to refer to if they have the time.

  4. If You Decide to Go to the MoonBy Faith McNulty Illustrated by Steven Kellogg McNulty, F. (2005). If you decide to go to the moon. New York, NY: Scholastic Press. Genre: Nonfiction This book is about a boy who narrates a journey to the moon and back to Earth. I will have this book on display in the classroom while teaching my lesson for the students to access if the time permets.

  5. What Does the Tide Do?By Jean Kinney Kinney, J. (1966). What does the tide do?. New York, NY: Young Scott Books. Genre: Nonfiction This book is about a boy named Damon who visits Cape Cod and learns about the tides and how the moon controls the tides. I will have this book on display in the classroom for the students to reference if there is free time.

  6. MoonBy Dana Meachen Rau Rau, D. M. (2003). Moon. Minneapolis, MN: Compass Point Books. Genre: Nonfiction This book discusses all the basic characteristics of the moon. For example, looking up at the moon, how the moon moves, how the moon formed, the moon’s surface, the moon from Earth, etc. What I really liked about this book and will use to show the students in my class was the glossary of all the important definitions associated with the moon.

  7. The Best Book of The MoonBy Ian Graham Graham, I. (1999). The best book of the moon. New York, NY: Kingfisher. Genre: Nonfiction This book is about how the Moon was formed and why it changes shape. This book also contains a glossary that will be nice for the students to reference. This book has a table of contents for the students to be able to quickly look at and flip to the phases of the moon. This book also has a section about The Moon and tides which will be extremely helpful in explaining the effect that the Moon has on tides.

  8. The Moon By Isaac Asimov Asimov, I. (1966). The moon. Chicago: Follett Publishing Company. Genre: Nonfiction This book is about moon phases, eclipses, origin, and two trips to the moon. I will have this book on display for the students to reference throughout the lesson if time permits.
