  21. IR Stem-Changers • Only IR VERBS STEM-CHANGE IN THE PRETERITE!!! • Stem Changes ONLY in the él and ellos forms • Changes e – i and o- u (no o-ue, e-ie, etc) • The endings are regular er/ir preterite endings • The following verbs take this change:

  25. J Changers • The following verbs are irregular in the Preterite Form: Conducir, Decir*, Producir, Reducir, Traducir, and Traer* • The root of the verb changes as well as the ending • They don’t have any accents • They use a mix of the –ar and –er/ir endings

Y Changers • The following verbs are irregular in the Preterite Form: Caer, Oír, Creer, Leer, & Construir contribuir, destruir, huirand Incluir • Stem Changes ONLY in the él and ellos forms • These verbs are all er/ir verbs so they use the er/ir verb endings • Bottom 2- Changes i – y • Caer, Oir, Creer, & Leer -Accents on ALL except ellos • “regular” accents for –uir verbs
