Naming Group D These Elements get their symbol from the FIRST letter andSOME OTHER letter of their English Name. Example: • Zinc = Zn
- General Symbol Tips When writing a symbol that has only ONE letter - *** That letter should be CAPITALIZED. When writing a symbol that has TWO letters - • The FIRST letter should be UPPER CASE • The SECOND letter should be LOWER Case.
