CAHSEE ALLOWABLE ACCOMMODATIONS --- That do not require a waiver including, but are not limited to: 1) Presentation accommodations:such as large print versions or Braille transcriptions; 2) Response accommodations:such as responses made with a mechanical or electronic device used solely to record a student’s answer; Diana Browning Wright, DCS 2002 12/05/01 Memo State Board of Education

CAHSEE ALLOWABLE ACCOMMODATIONS 3) Scheduling accommodations: such as more frequent breaks during the regularly scheduled test session; 4) Setting accommodations: such as special furniture or lighting, or a separate, secured room. NOTE: The CAHSEE is untimed. Extra time is therefore not either an accommodation or a modification. * Any modifications such as reader or calculator requires a waiver.   3. MODIFICATIONS ON CAHSEE SECTION • District must apply to CDE for a waiver if a modification was used on a section. • Student must still fulfill district graduation requirements and be successfully taking high-school level coursework. Diana Browning Wright, DCS 2002
