This lesson introduces students to the concept of leadership and explores different characteristics and qualities of effective leaders. Students will learn how to write their own mission statements and understand the importance of having a clear purpose in their leadership roles.

Being on a “Mission” is not the same as a “Mission Statement.” Following your “Mission Statement” will provide a goal for your leadership!

Classroom Activities • Working individually write your own Mission Statement. • Working in small groups write the Mission statement for your Agriculture Education class. • Write another Mission Statement for your local FFA chapter. • Teacher assigned activities at this time!
