Meet the Teacher • Earned a Masters of Education from Lee University near Chattanooga, TN • Has worked with children in 5 different countries and has explored 9 more countries • Has taught theater in a variety of settings • Loves the fine arts and plans to incorporate them into the classroom • Will do her best to help everyone be successful

  3. Classroom Rules • 1. Keep yourself, others, and our things safe • 2. Follow directions quickly and respectfully • 3. Encourage each other to do the right thing

  4. BAC Expectations • ALL students are expected to follow the BAC BEEhavior expectations: • BEE Safe • BEE Helpful • BEE Respectful • BEE Successful

Behavior Management There are several strategies used in this class: • Clip Chart– after 3 warnings they move to the next lowest level) • Awards come in the form of the marble party jar, Bee Bunch Lunch with the principal, Lunch Bunch with the teacher and other incentives. • There is a reflection corner for those who need think time during the day. • Laps may be given if students or the whole class need time to refocus at recess.

Daily Schedule 8:45-9:15 AR/Morning Work 9:15-9:25 BAC TV 9:25-10:10 Math 10:10-10:55 Math RTI (Response to Intervention) 10:55-11:25 RECESS 11:25-11:50 Prep For Lunch/Silent Reading/Show and Tell 11:55-12:20 LUNCH 12:25-1:10 Specials 1:10-2:10 Reading 2:10-2:55 Reading RTI (Response to Intervention) 2:55-3:25 Writing 3:25-4:10 Science/Social Studies 4:10 DISMISSAL

  8. Special Classes Students will visit six special classes each week. Our schedule is as follows: Monday – Science Lab and P.E. Tuesday – Computer Wednesday –Music Thursday – Media Friday – Art * On P.E. days please make sure your child wears tennis shoes and dresses appropriately. If they do not dress appropriately they will have to sit out of P.E.

  9. Send Items Parent Involvement • YOU are the most important link to your child’s success! Stay informed about what is going on with your little explorer at school. • Our classroom still needs help. Feel free to volunteer. E-mail me if and when you are interested in volunteer opportunities. Work on things at Home Field Trips

  10. Homework • Due to our long day at BAC, homework will be minimal, but I expect it to be quality work that is completed on time!
