History of the project • ESSNet ‘STAND-PREP’ in 2010 • Sponsorship on Standardisation in 2011-2012 • Launch of ESSNet on Standardisation: September 2012 • Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) was signed in September 2012 • Specific Grant Agreement 1 (SGA1)was launched in December 2012, duration: 15 months • End of SGA1 is in March2014 • Specific Grant Agreement 2 (SGA2) was launched in December 2013, duration: 15 months • End of SGA2 app. March 2015
Aim of the FPA • Continue the work elaborated by the Sponsorship on Standardisation (connected to several but not all recommendations of the Sponsorship ) • Goal: further elaboration of elements related to ESS standardisation and move towards practical implementation of the Sponsorship recommendations • Support the establishment of the Integrated Statistical System within the ESS

Communication issues (1) • In SGA1 no extra moneyforexternalcommunication (informalcommunication) • In May 2013 Forward-lookingfeedback workshop washeldforthe Sponsorship on Standardisation, (The Hague) • In case of casestudieswecontactedthe SDMX Secretary and Eurostat • In SGA2 we ask the DIME standardisation Steering Group to coordinate the communication between ESS-standardisation related initiatives and projects (e.g. validation, feedbacks etc.)
Communication issues (2) • In SGA2 we would like to communicate with the initiatives engaged in ESS standardisation-related activities (e.g. cost-benefit analysis, business architecture, development and use of standards, etc.) • In SGA2thefollowingexternalcommunicationchannelswill be used: • European ModernisationWorkshop in Valencia • Q2014, Vienna • Jointworkshopwith DIME • Websiteforthedeliverables of the project (beside CROS portal)
Communication issues (3) • In SGA2 we choose a case study for testing the standard setting process with the help of EUROSTAT and DIME Steering Group
