Guidelines to effective research • Be systematic in your approach • Use the Library catalogue and electronic resources • Keep records of the correct citation of articles and cases you consulted • Start your bibliography early • Make an appointment with a Reference Librarian
Organising a bibliography Record citations correctly at the time you are using them • reported/unreported case citations • authorised/unauthorised law reports Have a system for recording citations • Card catalogue • Create a Microsoft Word or Excel table or Access database • Use Endnote
