Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance (DOPSA) Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance (DOPSA) Desktop Deployment Planning Services (DDPS) Desktop Deployment Planning Funds (DDPF) Desktop Deployment Planning Funds (DDPF) DDPS provides deployment planning framework • Designed to provide mutual benefits for partners, customers, and Microsoft • Software Assurance (SA) benefit available to eligible Microsoft customers worldwide • Offered at no cost to the customer—Microsoft pays partners to deliver customized deployment plan services • Creates revenue opportunities to partners in the form of ongoing services as a trusted advisor • Helps move eligible customers toward a more efficient infrastructure by deploying Modern Office (Office 2003 /Windows XP; 2007 Office/ Vista) • Customers qualify for different levels depending on SA spend (1,3,5,10, & 15-day engagements) • Leverages different funding models and DDPS partners worldwide to provide a customized deployment plan to customers without Software Assurance (SA) • Harnesses deployment planning activities so they can be tracked and influenced to consider purchasing SA • Concentrates on specific engagement levels based on the funding model, field strategy, and identified customer opportunity • Designed to provide key mid-market and Enterprise customers with a deployment plan to drive Modern Office • * Number of DDPF days funded will vary by Sub • ** Replaces programs such as DSP • Once it’s determined a customer is not eligible for DDPS, there is an opportunity to upsell to SA to receive associated benefits • Extends partner investment by connecting them to all deployment planning opportunities • Provides a valuable deployment plan to assess investment in IT infrastructure • Utilizes other funds from field, partner and even customer to provide a deployment plan * • *Number of DDPF days funded will vary by Sub. • Examples: • US (formerly DSP) funds 3-day DDPF engagements • Australia funds 5-day DDPF engagements • Reduces application deployment costs • Enables delivery of applications as services • Allows for better management and control of enterprise desktop environments • Helps reduce the TCO of the entire Windows desktop lifecycle by accelerating OS and application management, and enhancing IT responsiveness and end-user uptime • Comprised of: • Microsoft SoftGrid application virtualization and streaming, which minimizes application compatibility issues and enables software on-demand • Microsoft Asset Inventory Service, translating software inventory into business intelligence • Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset, powerful tools to accelerate desktop repair • Microsoft Advanced Group Policy Management, which adds controls over change management to group policy.
