What is it? • An assessment of the disabled person. • An assessment of the present level of support. • An assessment of the carers situation. • Using standard statements which are scored, the greater the need for intervention the higher the score N.Morey@bury.gov.uk
How is it used for Short breaks • All eligible people and carers are assessed. • Scores are ranked high - low • Resource (bednights - vouchers - money) is divided by the scores (co-efficient). • Each person then receives an allocation based on their score. • Customer negotiates with provider over actual periods to be used.
