  3. Johan Nyberg AGATA Week, GSI, 21-25 February 2005 Simulation of key experiments Team leader: Enrico Farnea http://agata.pd.infn.it/info.html Some ongoing tasks and things to do: • Background suppression • Influence of ancillary detectors • Effect of recoil velocity • Improve the generation of realistic events • Include more ancillary detectors in the simulation code • Define an interface with the pulse-shape calculations • Web discussion was recently started concerning simulations of key experiments • ...

  4. Johan Nyberg AGATA Week, GSI, 21-25 February 2005 Gamma-ray tracking Team leader: Araceli Lopez-Martens http://www-csnsm.in2p3.fr/groupes/strucnuc/trackteam.html Existing algorithms: • Clusterization + forward tracking • Back tracking • Clusterization + probabilistic method • 1st hit identification with fuzzy Logic + fuzzy cluster

  5. Johan Nyberg AGATA Week, GSI, 21-25 February 2005 Gamma-ray tracking Examples of ongoing tasks and things to do: • Compared different algorithms with the same simulated data and started combining good features of different algorithms • Checking the influence of neutrons (see talk by J. Ljungvall) • Checking background suppression capacities of algorithms (see talk by E. Farnea) • Use «real» position uncertainties within a detector • Compute «real » effective distances in Ge, not assuming a 4 Ge shell (recently done by E. Farnea and M. Palacz, see talk by M.Palacz) • Interface to data analysis • Optimize tracking codes for speed • Online implementation • ...

  6. Johan Nyberg AGATA Week, GSI, 21-25 February 2005 Data analysis (online/offline) Team leader: Olivier Stezowski http://lyoinfo.in2p3.fr/matnuc/agata/accueil.html Ongoing projects and things to do: • Definition of a common data analysis framework • GammaWare package by O. Stezowski: produce realistic gamma-ray cascades from RadWare level scheme files, which can be used as input to Enrico's GEANT4 code

  7. Johan Nyberg AGATA Week, GSI, 21-25 February 2005 Databases Team leader: Karl Hauschild Team formed Jan 2005 Databases for AGATA: • Scanned detector data (wave forms, etc.) • Calculated pulse shapes • Detector parameters • ....

  8. Johan Nyberg AGATA Week, GSI, 21-25 February 2005 Team meetings • Tue 22/2 14:00 Simulation of key experiments • Tue 22/2 15:30 Data Analysis • Tue 22/2 17:00 Gamma-ray tracking • Wed 23/2 14:00 Key exp. and ancillary detectors • Thu 24/2 09:30 Databases Attend the meetings if you want to take part in the work done in the teams. There are lots of interesting projects waiting for your input!
