  1. Who Are Good Candidates For Egg Donation Process

  2. The Egg Donation Process is a blessing for many infertile couples. Nearly 1 in 6 couples experience infertility and are therefore unable to conceive a child on their own. They may seek assistance through various assisted reproductive techniques or via surrogacy. Whichever route you decide to take is a very personal decision. Women in particular may seek egg donation due to an underlying physiological or genetic problem. Some of these conditions are: Premature Menopause This occurs before a woman turns age 40. In this medical condition, a woman’s menstrual cycle begins to cease.

  3. An underlying medical reason for this is premature ovarian failure which can be caused by damage to the ovaries resulting from radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Women who experience premature menopause experience sleep disturbances, mood swings, hot flashes and other symptoms which are very similar to menopause. There is no treatment that can reverse premature menopause. If and when it occurs, the complications include an increased risk of osteoporosis and infertility. Diminished Ovarian Reserve This is an age-related condition that occurs after a woman turns 40. In diminished ovarian reserve, a marked decline occurs in the quantity and quality of a woman’s eggs, thereby reducing her reproductive potential. Diminished Ovarian Reserve typically occurs at the same time as menopause. The condition is usually age related but may be triggered by medical treatments, injury and genetic abnormalities. There is no medical treatment to stop diminished egg reserve. Infertility is a result of this condition.

  4. Endometriosis This is a medical issue in which the tissue lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterine cavity. The lining within the uterus is referred to as the endometrium. When this lining begins to grow on the bowel, ovaries and in the tissues of the pelvis, it indicates the presence of endometriosis. This type of tissue growth is unusual but not impossible. Hormonal changes related to the female menstrual cycle is the common cause. As the tissue grows in the outside regions, it becomes painful and inflamed. With time, the tissue breaks down and is trapped in the pelvis. This can cause scar formation, very painful periods, adhesions and fertility problems. Up to 10% of females experience endometriosis. It is a common medical condition.

  5. Other Medical Conditions that Prevent Fertility • Sometimes other medical conditions may prevent you from getting pregnant and lead you to seek egg donation. Some of these medical conditions are: • Production of poor quality eggs • Failure to produce eggs • Inability to become pregnant after receiving infertility treatments, i.e. fertility drugs • Possessing genetic abnormalities • Many women want to experience the joys of motherhood but are unfortunately prevented from doing so due to an underlying medical condition. Egg donation can be blessing in such cases. To learn more about egg donation, please visit Rite Options.
