Romans 8 • vv.1-11 show how God wants us to live • “In the Spirit,” not “in the flesh” • Ephesians 5:18 “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.” • Like a glove “filled with”/controlled by a hand
Romans 8 • vv.12-17 tell why we should live this way • We are God’s children and Christ is our brother • 1 Peter 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hopethrough the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.” • God’s family is the greatest family in the world
