Waterways • St. Paul’s inlet is located here • There are inter-tidal zones and estuaries • Waterfalls form in the summer as the snow melts (Baker falls)
Vegetation • 711 species of vascular plants • 36 types of different vegetation • Ex. Sedges, grasses, mosses, and coniferous forests • Not much vegetation at high altitudes because of tundra climate
Animals • 20 species of land mammals • 230 birds
Environmental Issues • 25 issues related to ecosystem management concerning plants and animals of the park • Ex. The timber harvest may not be sustainable and high moose density effecting the wood supply
History/Culture • Established under a Federal/Provincial agreement on August 13, 1973
Preservation Efforts • Using ecological integrity • There is also a conservation plan and a management program
