Personal Cleanliness Taking your clothes home and washing them at least once a week- EXCELLENT!!!
BE SAFE! Show responsible behavior Point out unsafe situations Pick up anything that makes the field or floor unsafe (if safe for you to do so) LISTEN & FOLLOW directions for safe play!
Locker Rooms • Keep them NEAT & CLEAN (Gentlemen, pick up your towels & put them in the bin.) • LOCK your stuff up in your locker! • Don’t share your combination with anyone else • Items that don’t fit in your locker may be locked up in the P.E. office • CHENEY HIGH SCHOOL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY STOLEN OR LOST ITEMS!!
Expectations • NO FOOD or BEVERAGEis allowed in the gyms • You CAN NOT leave the gym area early as it will result in a loss of ALL points and truancy • NO CELL PHONES, IPODS OR MP3 players in class except for cardio center
Due to safety reasons!!! • Having your cell phone on you during class will result in a zero for the day 0/10

Participation • PARTICIPATION: 75% of your grade -Must be suited down in proper clothes -Be suited down with a smile on your face every day!!!! • Daily Points = 10 points possible each day Are you ALL IN? A- 2 pts Attitude L- 2 pts Learning Target L- 2 pts Lively Participation I- 2 pts In Active Motion N- 2 pts Not Tardy
Written Activities • Written Activities 10% of grade • 5 components of fitnes • FITT Principle • 3 Phases of a Workout • Target Heart Rate Zone
Fitness Testing • Fitness Testing- 15% -Goal is to increase : 1. Flexibility 2. Muscular Endurance 3. Cardiovascular Endurance 4. Muscular Strength • Students will be pre, mid, post-tested in the 5 components of fitness and skills
Fitness Tests • All PE classes will be tested in: 1. pacer 2. sit-ups 3. push-ups 4. Sit & reach (l & r) • Weight Training (additional tests) -40 yd dash, vertical jump, core lift maxes, t-test
Appropriate Clothes for P.E. • Must have P.E. clothes to wear. They can NOT be clothes that were worn to school • P.E. clothes include: 1. Shorts 2. T-shirts (NOT tank tops) 3. Athletic shoes 4. Sweats (if needed) • If you forget, check with your teacher as we have loaner clothes for you to borrow.
Non-SuitsBe Dressed Down- JUST DO IT! • 1st Non-Suit-loss of 10 daily points • 2nd Non-Suit-5% grade reduction • 3rd Non-Suit- 10% grade reduction • 4+ It continues to multiply (just don’t do it!!!) • Dressing down for 15 consecutive days will eliminate one non-suit.
MAKE-UP • All EXCUSED absences from class MUST be made-up to receive daily class points • Make-ups are offered for TWO weeks every semester • they are offered during the ½ days in November and in January • they are offered before school, at lunch and after school • Non-Suits can NOT be made-up during this time
ATHLETIC ABSENCES can be made up by: 1. attending during the two make-up weeks 2. completing a make-up form for each athletic event
Make-up • You can NOT make up NON-SUITS during make-up weeks • You can NOT make up more than 10 absences. • More than 20 absences results in a failing grade
Please fill out your syllabus sheet, sign it, get a parent signature and then return it to your teacher by Friday, September 11thfor full credit.Bring your clothes Thursday!!!
