  2. Unfortunately, money doesn’t grow on trees! So, it is important to learn how to save and spend your money wisely. This WebQuest is designed to teach this important life skill to ensure your financial success in the future! Introduction Click Here and Show Me the Money!!

  3. Introduction continued THINK: What does this lady mean? She has 5 bags. Did she really save money?

  4. Task You will read about saving money and how banks work. You will read about spending money, smart shopping, and cash versus credit. You will take the “Truth About Millionaires Quiz” You will take the quiz “What Kind of Spender are You?” You will learn to check the change you receive after making a purchase. You will decide how to wisely spend an amount of money you are given.

  5. Process Saving money is important. Click on the saving basics, 5 simple saving tricks, and how banks work links. Read each section then complete the "Truth About Millionaires" quiz. Print the Quizafter you have completed the online version. Complete the printed quiz to turn in at the end of the project. Click on the link to Ed’s Bank and practice saving money and spending it on things Ed might want or need! Learning to spend money wisely is equally as important as saving money. Click on the learn to shop smart and about cash and credit links. Read each section then complete the "What Kind of Spender Are You?" quiz. Print the Quiz after you have completed the online version. Complete the printed quiz and turn it in at the end of the project.

  6. Process continued When you make a purchase, or buy something, it is important to make sure you receive the correct change back. Click on the cash register picture to play the Change Maker game. Play the game on the medium level and with United States currency. After you have reached a minimum of $15.00 in your piggy bank, print the screen. This printout will be turned in at the end of the project as proof that you have played and completed the game as directed. *NOTE: The percentage of correct and incorrect answers will be noted when reviewing your printout. Since you may replay the game as many times as you wish, too many incorrect answers on a final printout will result in points lost.

  7. Process continued Learning how to manage your money is important. It is time to prove you know how to do this. You will have to write a story explaining how you would manage the $50.00 your parents or guardians left you on a Saturday they were away. You will find everything you need in order to complete this last portion of the project by clicking on the picture below.

  8. Your grade will be determined by two parts: Part 1 – A combination of the millionaires quiz, spender quiz, and change maker game. Click on Rubric 1 to see how you will be scored for each assignment. Part 2 – Your story about how you spent the $50.00. Click Rubric Part 2 to see how you will be scored for this assignment.   9. Conclusion Click HERE for the answer to the question under the cartoon on slide 3! Hopefully you have learned a little about the importance of saving money and spending it wisely. As you get older, you will have to make tough decisions about what to spend your money on or what to save up for. Take what you have learned throughout this webquest and apply it to your life.
