  1. The plasmatic membrane is a selectively permeable barrier. It controls the passage of substances in and out of the cell in different ways depending on their size.

  2. Entry of small particles Through diffusion (with the concentration gradient)

  3. Entry of medium-sized particles Through channels (with the concentration gradient) Through pumps (against the concentration gradient).

  4. Entry of large particles 2 3 1 The waste products of digestion are expelled from the cell (exocytosis). Lysosomes break down the substances inside the vesicle. A vesicle is formed (endocytosis).
