Citavi and the Research Process Citavi is a professional tool for researchers and students. It helps you with all research tasks, from searching for sources, to obtaining materials and managing and analyzing your sources to creating a final publication. Citavi can be used for individual projects and for projects in a team.
The Reference Editor Navigation on the left, the editing pane in the middle, preview on the right for attached files or websites. Citavi can import EndNote libraries, Excel files and bibliographic formats such as BibTeX, RIS etc.
Table View The table view can be used to easily sort by certain criteria and to create selectionswhich can then be exported to Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc.
Search for Sources Citavi lets you search over 4000 databases: research databases, university, national, and combined library catalogs and bookseller websites. Citavi gives you the same search options as you would find in the database itself. If you select multiple databases, it even recognizes which search options they have in common. Our partners:
Search Globally and Locally With Citavi you can search your university’s library catalogor use its link resolver (SFX). With just one click, you can see which databases your university subscribes to. Citavi can even search online for the PDFs for journal articles in your project.
Integrated Task Planning Citavi helps you keep track of tasks related to your project. Tasks can be sorted by deadline or importance. The task planner is specially designed for academic research.
Working with Your Sources View texts, images, videos, and presentations in the previewpane. Directly excerpt quotations from PDFs and add your own comments in Citavi.
Organize Knowledge The Knowledge Organizer gives you an overview of all of your quotations, thoughts, and comments. Two tools help you structure and group your knowledge: you can assign keywords and apply categories to each reference.
