Profile Abstract • LDR provides information to the health care providers about the labor and delivery and the newborn in an in-patient setting. • This information is useful if the mother or the newborn are transferred to a more specialized unit (OR or NICU) • The data can also be used in an out-patient setting for continuation of care for both mother and child.

  4. Scope Capability to electronically communicate the following type of information to care providers and institutions: • General information about the family • History & Physical Admission Assessment for the mother • Transport Summary during pregnancy (if any) • Antepartum Care Summary (if not available in the APR electronically) • Labor and Delivery Summary and information about the newborn at delivery • Mother Discharge Summary

Key Technical Properties • Use of technologies such as: • HTTP • TLS • XML/XSLT • Use of XDS folder construct to contain one or more of the LDP documents • Use of an inheritance model with existing IHE profiles • Use of a replace model for all of the LDP documents • Data is both human and machine readable
