2011 Updates • De-emphasis on fundraisers, emphasis on service projects • Creek restorations, volunteering at a food shelter • Projects can be registered as early as January 2011 by all district teachers, staff, and coordinators • For everything March Gladness, visit www.MarchGladness.org
March Gladness 2011 needs: students, schools, citizens, businesses, and community members to “Serve Around the Clock” by designing and implementing community service projects
Adults should get involved with March Gladness to: • Develop positive relationships with the youth-community that directly benefit our society • Teach about world concerns outside of the classroom • Leadby example to promote lifelong community service • Involveresources in the character development of our youth • Youth should get involved in a • March Gladness service project: • Become aware of the needs and problems in the community • Understand others’ points of view in the community and expand world vision. • Developcommunication skills that promote successful completion • of tasks • Learn to make sacrifices to help • others and the environment
