  1. Glass Doors Repair Glass door repair is usually appropriate for damage to the associated parts of the door that make up its frame, handles, insulation strips, hinges or sliding track. Though there are several types of glass used for doors, dealing with damage to the glass itself is generally easiest and most cost effective to simply replace the entire door. Glass itself can be expensive, and the labor time put into fitting the piece to the door can exceed the price of a new door. Glass door repair is sometimes needed because the edges of the glass itself have warped or the seal between the glass and the material of the door has broken or deteriorated. Repairs in situations like this can be as simple as removing the original seals or sealant and replacing it with a generic version sold at the hardware store. It is important to pay attention to these seals because they can leak heat from the house or let cool air out from air conditioning systems out. Glass door repair for structure of the door itself are sometimes quite simple, but it is important to first determine the type of door. With this knowledge, customer service associates at a hardware store can help individuals find the parts they need to return their door to its best functioning capacity. ● Hinged Single Door - this is a common type for the outermost door on the front of a house or apartment. It has a border of wood or metal, but the majority of the center of the door is glass. These are not good insulating doors and a general used as buffer to the outside air. As interior walls or in temperate climates, these doors sometimes are made as solid sheets of glass with no edge to them, giving a sleek stylish appearance. ● French Doors - these are a style of how the doors open more than the materials used, where two doors open opposite of eachother and latch together in the middle. ● Bi-Fold Doors - basically a hinged single door, but with a hinge in the middle of the door dividing it into to parts. This reduces the space needed for a door to swing open entirely.\ ● Pivot Doors - often made primarily from glass and used on patios or sun porches, this type of door has a pivot at its center and spins open, rather than swings open. ● Sliding Doors - almost always utilizing glass, these doors are extremely common as backdoors of homes or as an opening to a balcony or porch. Glass door repair can have unique aspects depending on which style of door is being dealt with, however door frames and hinges or tracks are associated with all of them. It is important to check whether or not the door frame is level before assuming there is an issue with the door itself. Doors may incur damage to their hinges or a sliding door track because of use overtime on an uneven frame. Articles Source : http://www.withtone.com/glass-doors-repair/
