It’s not what you say. It’s how you say it.

The Speak Your Peace Project aims to create an environment conducive to civil conversation, foster civic participation, and promote mutual respect. With a track record of success in Duluth/Superior, the initiative has had a significant impact on politics, education, and civic engagement, garnering national recognition. Partnering with Mid-State Technical College, municipalities, and various school districts, the curriculum has been implemented in Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids, training over 1000 individuals. The Nine Tools of Civility guide the project, emphasizing principles like active listening, inclusivity, and constructive language. To keep Speak Your Peace alive, ongoing presentations and online resources are available for businesses, organizations, students, and individuals seeking conflict resolution. The project is made possible by the generous support of sponsors like Patrick Hayes, Alan and Patrice Billings, incourage community foundation, and Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.
