Who am I? • Systems Administrator @Florida Tech • 5 years • Chief of Operations - USA Southeast Region • 5 years • DOMjudgeDeveloper • 3 years
What’s this about? • https://cloudcontest.org • DOMjudge in “the cloud” • Automatically scales for basically any size contest • Simple setup
Why make this? • DOMjudge seems to be the most popular self-hosted CCS • Used by many regions(NWERC, SER USA, SOCAL, etc) • DOMjudge can be somewhat tricky to install if you aren’t a Linux person • Documentation is very good though • Overall Goal • Make the technical side of running a contest as easy as possible
Why is this great? • Create contest in just a few clicks • Your own dedicated cluster of machines • Automatic scaling and redundancy • Custom subdomain • http://<your_contest_name>.cloudcontest.org • Permanent static scoreboard • Full database dump for download after the contest
Virtual Machines for Judgehosts? • Admittedly it’s not ideal • Support bringing your own: • Easy to point your own judgehosts at our hosted instance • Coming soon • USB bootable judgehostimage • Just plug in, boot, and go
Demo • Hopefully the internet in here works! https://cloudcontest.org/ http://clidemo.cloudcontest.org
Other Tangentially Related Work • USB Bootable Contestant Environment • Fully customizable Linux environment tailed for programming competitions • http://icpc-environment.github.io/ • Open Source • Consistent team environment • No modifications to the computer necessary, as long as they can boot from USB • Used by the USA SER. • Contact me kj@ubergeek42.com for details
