  4. Why study other cultures in ESL? • Does your ESL book teach much culture to your students? • How are the cultures of Taiwan and the USA different? How are they similar? • Why should we study other cultures in ESL class?

  5. Cross-cultural Studies • Some problems we’ll try to address: • What stereotypes do students have about other people? • Why do students think English is not important to learn? • How is the world “getting smaller?”
