A little more about Marxism. Ideology and You.
E N D
Ideology and You • Ideology is the system of social, cultural, and personal values and beliefs that help you make sense of the world around you - your concept of right and wrong - and define expectations for behaviors (yours and those around you). To explore your ideology, consider the following questions:
What or who has helped you determine who you are now, who you think you should be, and who you want to be in the future? Think about home, school, society, and/or religious affiliations. • How/where do you spend much of your time? • Can you think of any traditions (family or social) that may have shaped certain attitudes for you? • Do you have personality traits or behaviors that have been encouraged or discouraged? What are they and how have they been encouraged or discouraged? • What are you most rewarded for in school? Why? • Reflect on the experiences you’ve had that may have shaped your ideology. State your ideological worldview in a few sentences.
While an ideology directs the actions and reactions of each individual regardless of whether he/she is aware of it, a philosophy is consciously thought out and presented to the world at large. Philosophy is academic, a defined way of finding meaning in life or searching for truth.

Let’s go, Students by Daniel Viglietti Let’s go students, To the streets and the squares. Let’s go, For life is calling us. Let’s go, comrades, Our heads high; Who fights for something Get it. Today it is arms, And tomorrow, what will they be? What will they be? What will they be? Today it is stones, Think about it Think, think! Let us march, Our fists clenched, And our hearts in revolt.
Let’s go, Students by Daniel Viglietti (continued) Let’s us go like a river, In the streets and the squares Crying out what Artigas Said. Tyrants Will one day tremble, Tremble! Tremble! A cold wind, We’re going to get them Get them! Get them! We are the new Air Of the spring. Against our voice There are no barriers We will defeat The darkened air Let’s go, let’s create A new dawn.
