The Rising Cost of Health Care An Industry Wide Problem • Since 2001, the cost of health care has risen a staggering 213% • 2013 is the 13th consecutive year of double-digit medical/Rx trend increases
Impact of Health Care Reform • Additional Costs and Fees • In 2014, NWTC will pay an additional $121,600 in annual Health Care Expense due to Health Care Reform. • NWTC will need to implement a strategy to avoid any Cadillac Taxes in 2018. • Strategies to mitigate Health Care Reform impact will be a key part of future benefit decisions.

Consider a lower cost option, along with your doctor’s advice • Know your procedure - Become educated on your procedure and learn about alternative treatment options that may be available and more cost-effective • Know what questions to ask the doctor, what to expect and how to prepare. REMEMBER: It is OK to ask about the cost of care.
