  4. Dispel (v) • To drive away • To force out of one’s mind - To go away I tried to dispel my bad dream from my mind.

  5. Expel(v) • To force or drive out • To force to leave I hope they do not expel me from school.

  6. Impel (v) • To drive forward • To urge to action • To motivate My curiosity impelled me to look under the bed.

  7. Impulse (n) • A sudden urge that drives someone into action I had the sudden impulse to go get some ice cream.

  8. Propel (v) • To force to move forward • To drive onward The motor is used to propel the boat.

  9. Pulsate (v) • To vibrate • Beat • Forced to produce short bursts I could feel my blood pulsating through my veins.

  10. Repel (v) • To drive back • To ward off or keep away The bad smell repelled people from entering the room.

  11. Repellent (n) • A substance used to drive away insects or animals I used insect repellent to keep the mosquitoes away.

  12. Repulsive (adj) • Disgusting • Tending to drive off • Offensive The thought of it was repulsive.
