  8. 10 ideas for aligned/pooled field building investments in Tanzania • Support the government capacity to develop a national database to track young children’s welfare • Help create a knowledge and training centre (with satellites at regional colleges) to house research on young children, curricula, and other tools for practitioners, civil servants and policymakers Capacity building • Research to calculate unit costs of all on-going service modalities in Tanzania • Test the feasibility of linking small business and micro-finance to early childhood services, along with • other options to help services survive ‘until the government arrives’ Innovative financing • Support civil society organizations to track public (and private) investment in young children and monitor the quality of services delivered • Support civil society to campaign and disseminate the new early childhood policy Communications and advocacy • Strengthen the capacity of leading civil society organizations to advocate for young children • Support the establishment of the first cohort of Tanzanian leaders for young children including heads of corporations, public servants, leading academics and activists from civil society Leadership • Create a fund for experimental and quasi-experimental impact evaluations • Support individual demonstration projects and agree to a minimum standard of evaluation criteria Evidence @elc
