Breeding The Thoroughbred was originally bred in England due to the increasing passion for fast race-horses.
Work The Thoroughbred is a well known race horse in the US, one of it’s less common jobs are pleasure riding.
Coloring Black, Bay, Brown, Gray, and Chestnut
Characterization of the head The thoroughbred should have a refined head, intelligent eyes, and a slightly longer then average neck. The longer neck helps them move faster by letting the head bob up and down more, bobbing the head helps the horse run.
Characterization of the body The thoroughbred is usually 14.2 -17 hands high, but the average is about 16 hands high. The coloring is usually bay, brown, chestnut, and gray, the more rare colors are black and roan. The thoroughbred should show depth in the girth area. The shoulders should be well sloped. The back should be short. It also has straight legs and well let-down hocks.
