  3. Request to SC29 • Software and Conformance testing to most of our standards is publicly available • Currently, this does not apply for • 14496-7 (optimized reference software for MPEG-4 video) • Any component of MPEG-C • Video has issued resolutions recommending to change this situation

  4. 23002-1 IDCT Precision • Improved version of IDCT precision testing software and its description • Now includes the testbeds that were developed for checking IDCT conformance in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 Visual video codecs • Disposition of Comments on ISO/IEC 23002-1/PDAM1 (N8980) • Text of ISO/IEC 23002-1/FPDAM1 Software for Integer IDCT Accuracy Testing (N8981)

  5. 23002-2 Fixed-Point DCT/IDCT • Disposition of Comments on ISO/IEC CD 23002-2 (N8982) • Text of ISO/IEC FCD 23002-2 Fixed-point Implementation of 8x8 IDCT and DCT (N8983) • Contains improvement of previous algorithm (LLM11 based), virtually same accuracy • complexity reduced by 2 shift operations • row-order transform first (as applied by many transform implementations in the market) • Software implementation will be included in the standard

Reconfigurable Video Coding • Work plan for development of toolbox is behind original (very ambitious) schedule • Definition of parsing and bitstream description need more investigation in CE • Work plan for 23001-4 CD and 23004-2 CD delayed by one meeting • Marco will report more technical detail • Good news: Work on conformance testing has been started

Reconfigurable Video Coding • 23001-4 project description updated, mentioning support of non-MPEG toolboxes and intent to define a registration mechanism • Successful exploration experiment on first investigation to run RVC concept combining 23001-4 with non-MPEG toolbox (AVS) • Original AVS specification and reference software were now made available by AVS liaison – many thanks • EE can now be continued as real proof-check • Participation and contributions of AVS liaison members highly welcome
