Ye low is: 0 degree of Celsius Scribed by: Steffanee Wang Yesterday night, Thornfield Hall burned down from what is suspected to be arson. The owner of the house, Mr. Rochester, was able to save all of the servants and maids before the house burned down. However, he did not leave unscathed: he lost an eye, and a hand. He was also blinded in his other eye. “It was chaos. All I saw was smoke and fire, and Mr. Rochester was pulling me and telling me to leave the house,” Ms. Fairfax, the housekeeper, said. “Bless his heart.” The suspect of the arson, Bertha Mason, Mr. Rochester’s wife, committed suicide before she could be saved. Mr. Rochester is currently healing at Ferndean.

EDITORIAL We the staff, at Ye Old Daily Informer, have quite an opinion on the strange context of the Thornfield Fire. Firstly, the suspect behind the tragedy that left Mr. Rochester blind, and handless. The suspect, Bertha Mason, committed suicide after the fire, instead of allowing herself to be saved; it’s quite obvious that this fire was NOT an accident, and was purposely caused. However, the strange air surrounding this circumstance is curious. For example, what relation does she have to Mr. Rochester? Well, we the staff at Ye Old Daily Informer asked some of the maids and staff, and one of our sources told us that she is Mr. Rochester’s insane wife! This is shocking news as word around the block says that Mr. Rochester has recently been courting one Miss Jane Eyre. Well, this certainly sounds like a 1800’s soap opera, so we are very anxious on how this will result. Stay tuned for more information. Also check out our Gossip section on Page 8. WHO EXACTLY IS THIS CRAZY WOMAN?
Housemaid Bessie Advises Dear Housemaid Bessie, I was recently proposed to and we were about to get married when two strange young men interrupted the ceremony and announced that my would-be groom was already married! He then asked me to be his mistress after showing me his insane wife that he kept locked up. He even spoils me with gifts and wants to take me to fancy places just for me to stay. What should I do? Should I just run off and live with him already knowing that he is already married? Sincerely, Desperate
HOUSE MAID BESSIE ANSWERS Dear Desperate, Most women would know what to do in a situation like this but seeing as you obviously don’t, let me tell you. You leave that man. Even though he is showering you with gifts and offering to take you on fancy vacations, he can’t divorce his wife since she’s insane! Go out and find yourself a nice young man and if he keeps bothering you then simply reply “I don’t like humdrum men and you’re the paragon of insanity!” and run away before he can understand what you just said. Sincerely, Housemaid Bessie
THE WORD ON THE BLOCK On an unrelated note, Bertha Mason is still up to NO good. Word on the street is that Bertha tried to set poor Rochester on fire, and she even bit and stabbed her own brother! That darn Bertha just won’t waver in her attempts to get rid of Rochester. Scribed by: ezeopara Do you have some JUICY GOSSIP to share with us?? Send a letter to: Ye Old Daily Informer 345 Old Road Hay, England Mr. Rochester may or may not be Celine Varens’ baby daddy. The truth still remains unknown. With the lack of 20th century science, a paternity test is out of the question. So for now, one can only guess who Adele’s father is. The beautiful young Adele’s mother is AWOL (absent without leave), but a father figure is still present because of the valient efforts portrayed by the strapping Edward Rochester. Bertha Mason before she went insane.
