QSP is a Quick, Simple, and Profitable way for girls to earn money for their troop through the sale of nuts, candy, and magazines. • Funds generated are used to help our council deliver programs and expand the opportunities for girls and volunteers. • Participating in QSP enables girls to develop 5 Key Skills: • Goal Setting • Decision Making • Money Management • People Skills • Business Ethics What is the QSP Program

Troop Goal Setting • Encourage girls to set a goal for the troop. • How would like they like to spend their troop proceeds? • How will they reach the goal? • Share the goal with troop families and check-in with girls about their progress throughout the program. • Troops who set goals are more successful!

Share Program! • Girls can ask customers to make a donation to • support the Share Program. • Each $5.00 donation will purchase one can • of nuts, and this product will be donated to the • American Red Cross Connecticut Chapter • Purchases for the Share Program should be recorded on the nut and candy order card. Payment is due at the time the order is placed. • All girls are invited to participate in the Coloring for a Cause Program to further support the American Red Cross. Girls Selling 2 Or More Items Will Earn The SHARE Patch!
Taking Customers’ Orders for Nuts and Candy • Girls ask customers to review the order card and mark their selections. • Money is collected at the time of the purchase. Cash and check are acceptable forms of payment. • Girls and a parent/guardian should review each order for accuracy.
Nut and Candy Delivery • Only the exact amount of product ordered by the troop will be delivered • SU QSP Managers will receive the nuts and candy in the first week of December • Please pick-up and deliver products promptly
Magazine/ Nut Online Program • Girls can ask customers for support through a safe online system. • They enter their goals, send emails, and track their success! • Girls and their parent/ guardian click this button on www.gsofct.org to get started!
Creating an Account • Instructions for Troop QSP Managers are in the 2013 QSP Program Guide and online at www.gsofct.org • Instructions for parents/guardians can be found at www.gsofct.org.
Personalizing the Page Girls can: • Customize the message for customers • Enter a sales goal • Upload a profile image and choose a theme for the page.
EnteringEmails Girls can manually enter emails or upload from an address book. Girls who enter 12 or more emails will receive the online patch. Emails are only used for this program
Nut and Candy Promises The nut order card may be added to the emails for all or just specific customers. Customers make a promise to purchase nuts and candy. Girls and their families arrange delivery and collect payment for these orders.
Customer Email • Emails sent to customers will include a link to the Magazine Store and may include a link to the Nut Store • Customers will no longer receive reminder emails after their initial purchase but they may continue to purchase magazines until the end of the program.
New Business Cards for Girls Girls can create their own business cards! Council name and url personalized for Online Magazine Flyer Cards are inside each girl’s sales packet
Girl’s Online Sales report Report lists all online magazine sales and nut promises as well as the number of emails sent. Report is sent automatically to the parent/guardian’s email address at the end of the program. Troop QSP Manager must enter the information into nut-E by November 8, 2013 for girls to receive recognitions and troop proceeds. NEW! Troop QSP Manager may opt to have reports emailed directly to her.
Facebook and Twitter • Girls 13 and older may post the online store link to their Facebook and Twitter pages. • Opportunity to reach broader network of family and friends • Any sales directly track to Girl Scout’s QSP/Nut Online Program and are reported on the Girl’s Online Sales Report

Why Magazines? • People already buy magazines! • The average family subscribes to 4 magazines a year • People can support Girl Scouts without spending any additional funds • Magazines appeal to everyone, every interest! • QSP offers many print and digital titles!
Magazine Catalog • 665+ magazines available • Expanded digital offers! • 50 combo offers • Organized by area of interest Girls who sell 2 or more magazine subscriptions online or from the catalog will earn the Grow patch!
Magazine Order Form • Customers should keep the pink copy • Payment by cash or check is due when the order is placed • The yellow and white copies, and money for all subscriptions, is due to the Troop QSP Manager.
Address Booklet • Girls personalize postcards to send to • family and friends Girls who complete 8 or more postcards will receive a patch!

Troop Proceeds • 15% of all Nut and Candy Sales • 15% of all Magazine Catalog Sales • 15% of All Magazine Online Sales • $2 Per Address Booklet Girls in Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador troops may decide to take an additional 2% in proceeds in place of individual recognitions. Girls will still receive all patches earned.

Be A Goal Achiever! • Girls can earn this patch in two different ways: • Have $200 or more in combined magazine and nut and candy sales • Participate in all components of the QSP Program • (sell at least one nut item and magazine subscription, send 12 emails through the online program, and complete an address booklet) • Every girl who earns the Goal Achiever patch will be entered in a drawing to receive a special prize package for herself and • a $250 program or shop credit for her troop!

Login PageEnter your troop’s Login & Password and select the 2013 Fall Product Sale Campaign. Click “Sign-In”The log-in and password are CT followed by your troop number (ex. CT33102) Complete nut-E instructions are in the 2013 QSP Program Guide and online at www.gsofct.org.
Home Icon The home page is where you will find messages from the council and Service Unit
Troop Detail Page On this page Troops should enter or verify all of their information. Note that the “Level” is a drop box so please confirm that the correct level is selected. Highlighted fields are required.
Step 2– Enter girls’ names by clicking the “Add Girl Name” button to the left. When the pop up appears, type in the information and click “Add Girl Name”. Keep adding names until you are done.
The girls names will appear in the list at the bottom of the screen. Step 3- Add Girl Orders by clicking the green plus icon.
All 3 portions of each girl’s order must be “Saved”. Type in the quantities for each Product item and keep tabbing until all items are filled. NOTE: Both Magazine Dollars & Magazine Units are required. Click “Save” on either side of the “Product Order” container.
Most recognitions will automatically calculate based on the girl’s order. Make selections as necessary. Click “Save” on either side of the “Recognitions Earned” line.
Click “Yes” in the pop up box to complete the order. You must click this to save her order! The system will automatically take you back to the girl list.
Once all orders have been entered . . . Click the pink “Submit Nut/Candy Order” button. Troops can only submit one time. If a troop submits before all orders are entered they may contact their SU QSP Manager or the Product Sales Department.
Girl Payments Troops have the option to track individual Girl Payments in the system. These payments will appear on the G2 report. Click the “Girl Payments” button.
Reports IconThis page contains all reports as well as manuals and tutorials. The T-2 – Nuts/Candy & Mags Report is especially helpful. If there are problems opening PDF reports please update your system with the free Adobe Reader upgrade at the top of the page.
Making the Troop’s Payment to Council • nut-E will calculate the amount due to the council • Payment can be made online at www.gsofct.org or at Webster Bank. • Please pay carefully, overpayments of less than $10 will not be refunded. • Troops must print a copy of the online payment confirmation or have a deposit ticket stamped by the bank to hand-in to the SU QSP Manager.
Handing in Paperwork to the SU QSP Manager • All white and yellow copies of catalog magazine slips • All address booklets • All Girl Online Order Reports • Proof of payment to the council (online payment confirmation or stamped deposit ticket) • Paperwork is due by November 8, 2013
