  3. Improve and Innovate Governance and Partnership Putting the patient at the centre of their data Providing tools for dynamic consent and sharing by the patient Protecting privacy while enabling improvement

  4. Consultation Engaging with stakeholders Census to create detailed picture of current activities Consult with citizens and service users Build a consensus for action Create network of the willing

Governance Agree the principles of data sharing Finding the balance between the need to access data and the need for privacy Recognising existing governance structures within localities and sectors, e.g. local integrated record boards Linking these governance structures via the Network Understanding where organisations should communicate and share Establish practical processes and agreements Ensure data is only shared and used appropriately

Understanding Building the network Directory of existing and developing data services and projects Enabling communication and sharing of best practice Linking to business and each other Providing support for local projects Promoting the priorities for health and well-being agreed by the members Build network of networks with other AHSNs and other organisations

Specification Building the business case Due March 31st 2014 Series of options for prioritisation and affordability Total costs composed from larger project objects integrated with local projects Identify and pursue funding opportunities at national and EU level Agreement of principles for sharing Defining the vision for what Datawell will achieve

  9. Purpose Creating the foundation “The purpose of the informatics work stream is to deploy systems and tools that permit us to link, understand, evaluate and capitalise upon electronic care information across our entire AHSN footprint.”
