AO and Laser System Program Overview • AO and Laser System Design phase follows the system engineering / trade studies phase • Inputs: Architecture Definitions, Study results, FRDs v.1 (June/July time frame) • Outputs: Contributions to System Design Manual & FRDs v.2 (= Conceptual Design or Proposal level => raising funding to build) Don Gavel: Keck NGAO meeting April 25, 2007
Purpose and Approach of the Replan • Problem: present plan is behind schedule. • Approach: given currrent status and lessons learned, adapt the plan to achieve key goals using the resources available • Play to people and institutional strengths • Streamline the work – fewer people at higher percentage • Level the plan and tie to people availability Don Gavel: Keck NGAO meeting April 25, 2007
