Your Role – Before • Review previous FPPE report • Be prepared to discuss progress made since previous FPPE • Arrange for as many operators to be involved as possible • Designate appropriate individuals to conduct plant tour • Do NOT change normal operations to accommodate FPPE • Organize yearly NTU data – max daily raw, settled, CFE • Make sample taps available • “True” raw water (prior to chemical addition) • Individual filter effluents

  3. Your Role - During • Share operational information • Explain how you’ve addressed each of the previous recommendations • Tell us what you’ve done and plan to do to improve performance • Ask Us Questions – What have other filter plant operators done to address similar issues?

  4. Your Role – During • Regularly review the laptop trend graph • Correlate significant spikes with operational events • Compensate for clock differences SCADA/laptop • Keep us informed of operational events – • Backwashes, flow changes, etc. • Alert us to any abnormal events

  5. Your Role - After • FPPE staff may call to request additional information • Can request a meeting where FPPE staff will explain report to all individuals you feel would benefit • Thoroughly consider each recommendation and determine if it may improve your filter plant’s performance • Respond to the Department with your findings… • All recommendations should be considered • All recommendations do Not need to be implemented
