Vocabulary • Lend – To give or allow the use of temporarily. • Ex) If I lend you a pencil, I expect that you will give it back. • Lease - a contract by which an owner rents buildings or land to another person for a specified period. • Ex) I signed a lease to rent my apartment, because someone else owns it.
The Lend-Lease Act • Under the Lend-Lease Act, the United States provided weapons to their allies. • In World War II the United States provided $50 Billion in lend-lease aid to their allies.
