LAT description • LAT consists of 30 tungsten disks • Each disk has silicon strip detector attached • Every second detector has either 120 radial or 64 concentric strips • In total there is 2960 read-out channels
Reconstruction method • For each LAT disk position of the cascade is found as energy weighted average of fired strip positions • Final polar and azimuthal angles is average of values found for each disk • Final values are then corrected for systematic offset if any
Summary • Simulation based on single electrons 250GeV sample indicates that for LAT design with silicon strip detectors accuracy of order 0.5x10-4 radian in measuring polar angle • Measurement of electron energy can be done with accuracy 5GeV (ΔE~0.31√E ) • Relatively low segmentation level (number of strips) seems to be sufficient (~3000 read-out chan.)
