Introduction • JEE Main is the national level entrance test organized every year by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission into undergraduate engineering programs at the IITs, NITs and other centrally funded Technical Institutes.  • JEE Main is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced aspirants who wish to pursue their engineering degree program at the IITs. • The official notification for JEE Main 2019 is yet to be released by CBSE.  • JEE Main 2019 will be conducted both online as well as offline modes. •  There would be two objective-type papers covering Intermediate level PCM syllabus. Of the two papers, Paper 1 is for B.E./B. Tech aspirants while Paper 2 is for candidates opting for B. Arch/B. Planning program.

JEE main Exam Pattern (Cont.) • Paper-1 JEE Main 2019 will be conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering courses. • As per the trend, the examination will be conducted through online or offline mode. Candidates will be able to opt between Pen & Paper Based or Computer Based examination mode. • Paper 1 will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects. • There will total of 90 Multiple choice questions, 30 from each subject. • The duration of the examination will be 180 minutes. • The medium of the paper will be English and Hindi. However, students filling the exam centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Havel cities will have the option to opt for English, Hindi or Gujarati medium. • Each correct question will carry 4 marks while 1 marks will be deducted from candidates’ score for each incorrect response.

(Cont.) • Paper-2 of JEE Main 2019 will be conducted for admission to undergraduate architecture courses. • Paper 2 will be conducted in Offline mode only • Paper 2 will test the applicants in the field of Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing Ability. • Paper 2 will consist of a total of 82 questions, 50 questions for aptitude test, 2 questions for drawing test and 30 questions from mathematics. • The duration of the examination will be 180 minutes. • The medium of the paper will be English and Hindi. However, students filling the exam centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Havel cities will have the option to opt for English, Hindi or Gujarati medium. • Each correct question will carry 4 marks and two drawing questions will be of 35 marks each. • One marks will be deducted from candidates’ total score for each incorrect response.
