  2. Steps in problem solving • Mess Finding • Fact Finding • Problem Finding • Idea Finding • Solution Finding • Acceptance Finding

  3. Step 1 – mess finding • Write down your topic for your oratorical speech • Brainstorm everything that relates to your topic (randomly) • You can use a web, list or design of your choice

  5. Step 2 Fact Finding • Choose your top 3 ideas • Write down everything that you already know about these 3 ideas • You can write down facts, evidence or proof

  7. Step 3 Problem Finding • Think of possible research questions (things you would like to know about your topic)

  8. Space • Are we the only living creatures in the universe?

  9. Step 4 Idea Finding • Think of possible solutions to your problem or ways to investigate your problem.

  10. Space • Explore existing planets in our solar system. • Discover new planets in other solar systems. • Travel into a black hole and see what is on the other side.

  11. Step 5 Solution Finding • Create a table (criteria – alternatives)
